Hello Friends! So nice to see you here!
Some of you may know me because you purchased a button or an art print or something else from my website (thank you so much for that!), and some of you might have found me when I did 365 Days of Doodles in 2017.
However you came to be here, welcome! I’m moving my newsletter to here, and I’m planning to use this space to share all of my creative endeavors.
Being creative feels essential to me. There are so many things I love to do - paint, draw, knit, make buttons, magnets, jewelry, paper crafts, and more. I always have a million ideas running around my head, and yet there are times when I struggle to make them real because of feelings of perfectionism and jadedness, and being stuck.
Pretty in Ink is a place for me to share all of my creative endeavors in a weekly(ish) email. It’s a place for me to talk about being creative and being imperfect, with my usual mix of pop culture references and sassy commentary.
Why the name Pretty in Ink?
I love a good 80s reference
Putting it in ink (rather than pencil) is an apt symbol for committing to making it happen and allowing there to be “mistakes”
The name suggests that it’s pretty just for existing, and we can embrace and appreciate it, flaws and all
Be weird in community
I know I’m not the only one who can quote the Breakfast Club movie almost word for word. If that sounds like your kind of weird, please join me! Participate in the comments section, let me know what you’d like to see, share your own struggles and triumphs with being creative, or support this work with a subscription.
Support my work
Right now everything on my Substack is free.
However, if you have the means to become a paid subscriber, (aka, a Patron of the Arts! 😉), I would be so grateful! Your support helps me grow my creative practice and small business.
And, if you like what you’re reading/seeing, please share!
Hi! I’m not here (on Substack) often, but noticed you followed me and like your work!
