Hello Friend,
I just want to start off by expressing my gratitude to everyone who liked, commented, and subscribed in response to last week’s coloring book post. You were all so encouraging and loving, and I’m even more inspired and excited to continue with that project. Thank you!
This week I decided to challenge myself to create something using a limited palette of colors, so I mixed up this assortment:
The term “jewel tone palette'“ sprang to mind, but is that just because I’ve consumed too much mass media? Which jewels actually look like this? Am I a pawn to pop culture? Probably, but for now, let’s just make some art.
I went for geometric-ish shapes, and added in some black and white to create more variations in the color options. Does the end result remind anyone else of the Candy Land game? For those of you not familiar, Candy Land is a board game with a colorful path of “sweet surprises.” See reference photo below.
Though in what I painted, instead of gleefully passing the lollipop woods and the peppermint stick forest on your way to home sweet home, there appears to be no clear beginning or end.
I do see some shapes that could be gumdrop mountains though, so perhaps we should have a seat and a snack while we try to sort this out?
As always, thank you for being here with me! Hope you have a lovely day.
xo

Tanya; I do like the concept of a "limited palette" , as I have an artistic/architectural background.. It could be a streetscape in the middle east ?
This looks to me like the a puzzle that could drive anyone working on it crazy. I see railroad cars in the upper right. I like your limited pallete.
