Hi Friend,
I know that I’ve mostly stuck to sharing art in this space, and I understand the importance of having places where one can escape the noise and anxiety that comes with the news cycles of the day.
For me, creating art is a way to process and in some cases, protest. I was inspired by a conversation with Anand Giridharadas (The Ink) and Anat Shenker-Osorio, where Anat makes the case for being more outspoken about our beliefs, and how this can lead to change.
“What we do is so much louder than what we say…people being out in the world saying, physically opposing this and speaking about it and writing songs about it and making parodies and making TikToks and painting “Fuck the Fascists” on the side of their barn… is actually what sways public opinion. What sways public opinion is what we call social proof. People do the things they think people like them do.”
If this resonates for you, I highly recommend listening to, or watching, the video here.
I’m working on some more art and buttons along this theme and would love to hear what you think. Would you wear a button or a t-shirt with the phrase “Fuck Fascism,” on it, or would you prefer it without profanity, such as “Smash Fascism”?
And for things that you don’t wear, like a magnet or art, same question:
I’m also trying to figure out how to share versions that would be open source, and available for free to download and print as flyers or posters. If you have any experience for the best way to do this, please share!
If you’re not in the app and you’d like to share your feedback, please email me directly! I’d love to hear from you.

I’d wear a Fuck Fascism button.
In fact my daughter sent me a T-shirt she made for us with a phrase she borrowed from Joan Baez when she saw Joan wearing it:
“Is He Dead Yet?”
I really love this idea. Wearable art. Buttons and T shirts. Let’s do it!
