Hello Friend,
Many days when I go for a walk, I end up taking a photo of a flower. Or three. My phone is filled with these photos that often inspire my line art drawings.
The other day, I started to pay more attention to the leaves, and suddenly they became the star of the show. I imagined a leaf-loving director stepping in to exclaim:
Look at the variety in shapes! See how they overlap each other in a symphony of colors! What amazing lines and textures!
This led to a lot more pictures, but for this post (and everyone’s sanity), I’m only sharing two.
I was inspired to create a little painting of them. While doing so, I noticed that I have eleven different shades of green in my large watercolor palette. Eleven!
Frankly I don’t know what I’ve been doing with my life up to this point.
Now that my eyes have been opened to the greens (in the park and the palette), I’m already making plans to incorporate more diverse leaf shapes in my line drawings in the future.
Hope you’re having a lovely day. 🌿

Tea is my one big hobby, so the leaves are where it's at! 🍃💚🍃
Love the painting!
